This Parent Involvement Plan will be reviewed annually to
evaluate the content and effectiveness and preventive barriers by
PTO parent representatives (representatives will be selected by the
general membership of each school’s PTO).
10.
The parent involvement review committee will use the findings
from evaluations to design strategies for more effective parent
involvement. The Parent
Involvement Review Committee will also cross-reference the
involvement strategies with the TCSPP and other programs as
appropriate. This will
be done annually; this committee may revise the Parent Involvement
Plan as needed.
11.
All principals will be required to attend a training session
annually, they in turn will provide coordination and technical
assistance and other support necessary to assist their respective
schools in planning and implementing effective parent involvement.
12.
The staff and parents of each school will explore creative
and innovative methods to build the schools and parents capacity for
strong parent involvements listed above.
13.
The course of study and access to learning materials is
available from all three schools, central office, website and the
Clinton City Public Library.
Title
I Schools
The school system and the school shall plan, design, and
implement the Title I Program, which includes the following:
1.
Convene an
annual meeting to which all parents have been invited.
The annual meeting will inform the parents of the school’s
participation with Title 1, the requirements of Title 1, and the
right of the parents to be involved in the school.
2.
Schedule a
flexible number of meetings in the morning, afternoon, or evening
for the parent’s convenience.
3.
Involve
parents in an organized, ongoing, and timely way in the planning,
review, and improvement of programs for parent involvement.
Parent involvement activities are discussed in school
newsletters, PTO meetings, parent conferences, and in the annual
Title 1 meeting. In the spring of each school year, a survey is
sent home to parents asking them to rate the success of the Title 1
program, rate the amount and quality of parent involvement
activities, and offer comments on program improvements.
4.
Newsletters,
PTO meetings, parent conferences will provide parents with timely information
about programs under parent involvement.
5.
The
following information is available to parents in the parent resource
center at each school
and on the NCLB school system website:
a.
Description and explanation of the curriculum in use at the
school,
b.
Forms of academic assessment used to measure student
progress, and
c.
The proficiency levels students are expected to meet.
6.
Provide
opportunities to parents for regular meetings (PTO meetings,
conferences, school activities) to formulate suggestions to
participate in decisions relating to the education of their child.
The school will respond to suggestions as soon as practicably
possible.
7.
Develop a
school-parent compact jointly with parents and include how parents,
the entire school staff, and students will share the responsibility
for improving student achievement and the means by which the school
and parents will develop a partnership to help children achieve the
State’s high standards. Annually
assess, through consultation with parents, the effectiveness of the
parental involvement program and determine what action needs to be
taken, if any, to increase parental participation.
